DFI - Algorithmic Lab Landing ImageAs a society, we rely on algorithmic or automated decision systems for assessing stores of data to make decisions with real-world impact. From personal finance or credit scores to supply chains and employment screening, advanced analytic capabilities are driving important decisions and outcomes in the private and public domains. The growing prevalence of data-driven algorithms has also led to larger questions around, e.g., privacy and fairness.

At a high-level, the Algorithmic Economy Lab will aim to further the study of data-driven algorithmic decision-making and to also promote system thinking in the context of a digital economy in which decisions are increasingly driven by such approaches.
