In July, 2002, the Decision, Risk & Operations Division was pleased to announce the addition of one faculty member, Alp Muharremoglu, who received his PhD from MIT, 2002. Professor Muharremoglu teaches the core course Decision Models. His research focuses on supply chain management. He was awarded the 2001 Nicholson Prize for the Best Student Paper in Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Prior to joining the Columbia faculty, he worked at Verizon Communications and Production Modeling Corporation.
