Abstract
The Domestic Transformation is the first volume of a series edited by Hugh Patrick that analyzes Japan's phenomenal economic rise, its society, and its place in contemporary world affairs after World War II and particularly after 1970. This volume takes essentially a domestic approach, while recognizing the impact of the rest of the world on Japan and Japan's interaction with it.
