Center on Japanese Economy and Business (CJEB) is co-sponsoring and providing administrative support for "Governance, Dispute Settlement and Developing Countries" to be held at Columbia University in partnership with the APEC Study Center. CJEB core faculty member Professor Merit Janow, Co-Director of the APEC Study Center and a member of the WTO Appellate Body, is the lead organizer of the conference, which is part of a yearlong series of events designed to consider the past, present and future of the WTO at this important milestone. Invited speakers for the conference include trade officials from Brazil, the European Union, Indonesia, Nigeria, South Korea and the United States, international trade leaders from academia, the private sector and the media, and current and former Appellate Body Members and Directors-General of the WTO.
