Mary Ann Casati '82

Mary Ann Casati’s professional business leadership experience spans more than 35 years across multiple sectors within the financial services industry. During her 20-year career at Goldman Sachs, she was one of a group of four to launch Wall Street’s first Equity Capital Markets Group; she subsequently developed and ran the first Retailing Industry Investment Banking Group on Wall Street, building it into a leading global business for Goldman Sachs; she became Partner and Managing Director; and developed and led numerous diversity initiatives. Thereafter, she co-founded Circle Financial Group, a private wealth management membership practice she continues to co-manage; and subsequently has become a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and Chartered Financial Consultant ® to assist individuals in more confidently, comprehensively, and effectively managing their financial affairs across an increasingly complex financial services industry.

Mary Ann also has substantial Governance, Audit, and Investment Committee experience as a board member in the for-profit and non-profit sectors. With ten years of Corporate Board experience (including J. Crew Group and Williams Sonoma), she has served on Audit, Compensation, and Special Committees. She has 12 years of Endowment Investment Committee experience. In Higher Education, she has worked with each of her alma maters. As Chair of the Investment Committee for Miami University (of Ohio) Foundation, she initiated and led a review of the investment model, resulting in a conversion to an Out-Sourced Chief Investment Officer structure, of which she oversaw the OCIO implementation, portfolio restructuring, and governance alignment. For Columbia Business School, she is a member of the Global Advisory Board for The Jerome A. Chazen Institute for Global Business and Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. She is a Centennial Society Member of the Economic Club of New York, member of the New York Public Library Financial Services Leadership Forum, member of the Women’s Forum of New York, and has served in various capacities on numerous nonprofit boards over the last 20 years.

Mary Ann graduated from Columbia Business School in 1982 with an MBA degree in Finance, Beta Gamma Sigma and Dean’s List. She received her B.A. in Sociology, Cum Laude, from Miami University of Ohio in 1977. She was inducted into the YWCA Academy of Women Achievers in 1996. She is based in New York.
