Dan has long been passionate about golf and oversaw the creation of the iconic Liberty National Golf Course, for which he is co-founder and president. Liberty National opened in 2006 and has hosted major PGA Tour events, including the Northern Trust and 2017 Presidents Cup, Junior Tour events, including the Junior Presidents Cup, the Nexus Cup, and numerous charitable events, namely Birdies for Breast Cancer fundraisers.

An active philanthropist, Dan works closely with the Paul & Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation, The Tiger Woods Foundation, One Family, Inc., and, among others, First Tee, a charity founded in partnership with the major golf organizations to make golf more accessible for all kids. Along with this, he is on the board of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. Dan also has extensive board service on several of the Growcore investment boards.

He is also active politically and has made donations to the Democratic Party and the causes it supports. Notably, he was an early supporter of former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s 2020 Presidential campaign. He also lent support to and campaigned for Rep. Jake Auchincloss, the current representative from Massachusetts’ 4th congressional district.
