Isabelle Swinkels

Isabelle Swinkels is the Next Generation Leader and a board member of the Family Business Network Netherlands (FBNed), bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the world of family enterprises. With a deep-rooted connection to her family legacy as an eighth-generation member of Royal Swinkels, Isabelle's journey reflects her dedication to understanding and contributing to the success of family businesses.

She completed a three-year NextGen program alongside her family members, focusing on family business dynamics, personal growth, and leadership development. Isabelle also served on the Royal Swinkels Family Council for four years, gaining valuable governance experience.

Based in The Hague, Isabelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hotelschool The Hague and a master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam. She is currently enhancing her expertise by pursuing a course on “Responsible Ownership for Enterprise Families” at VU Amsterdam and Family Office Exchange (FOX).

Her professional journey includes four years in the public sector and two years at a family company outside her own, giving her a well-rounded view of diverse industries. Isabelle is now exploring opportunities in project management and consultancy, with a special focus on family businesses. Fascinated by the unique dynamics and resilience of family enterprises, she aspires to play a governance role at Royal Swinkels in the near future.

Through her work, Isabelle embodies the values of collaboration, continuity, and responsible ownership that are essential to the success of family businesses.
