2006 Academic and Service Award Winners Announced

The Offices of Student Academic Affairs and MBA Student Life have announced the recipients of the 2006 academic and service awards, to be presented at the School’s Recognition Ceremony at Madison Square Garden on May 14.

The Offices of Student Academic Affairs and MBA Student Life have announced the recipients of the 2006 academic and service awards. Twenty graduating students, one staff member and Professor Laurie Simon Hodrick — who was selected by students for the second consecutive year and third time overall to receive the Singhvi Prize for Scholarship in the Classroom — will be recognized at a ceremony at Madison Square Garden on May 14. Academic Awards Amena Elliot Webster Memorial Award Awarded to a graduating woman who has shown overall academic excellence in the area of marketing Sara Jackson ’06 Beta Gamma Sigma New York Alumni Award Selected on the basis of outstanding character, scholastic achievement, participation in School affairs and potential for civic, business and professional leadership Jordan Bliss ’06 Michael Ho ’06 Joanne Martin Award for Public and Nonprofit Management Presented annually to a graduating student who best demonstrates dedication to the public and non-profit sector, and who exemplifies inner strength and personal integrity Stephanie Sewell King ’06 Lindsay H. Kruse ’06 Robert and Jacqueline Willens Tax Research Prize Awarded for superior skills in the area of tax theory, practice or research Li Sun ’06 (Please note that two runners-up are also acknowledged: Carl L. Williams ’06 and Jeffrey Gordon ’06.) Robert H. Montgomery Prize in Accounting Awarded for excellence in the area of accounting Gaston Alejandro Rodriguez ’06 Shuchman-Hulbert Award in Marketing Recognizes a graduating student with an outstanding record in the study of marketing who shows promise of future contributions to the field Benjamin Witt ’06 Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award Presented annually to a graduating student who has achieved overall academic excellence in the field of finance Carl L. Williams ’06 Eli Ginzberg Memorial Prize Presented annually to a graduating student who has done outstanding work in the field of economics or human resources Gregg Lemos Stein ’06   Service Awards Singhvi Prize for Scholarship in the Classroom Selected by graduating students and awarded to a full-time faculty member who exemplifies excellence in the classroom, based on his or her dedication to teaching and the ability to communicate knowledge and encourage students Professor Laurie Simon Hodrick Heffernan Award for Service Given to graduating students who have made outstanding contributions to the operations of the School working “behind the scenes,” as selected by the administration Matthew Ryan Biggins ’06 Abe Chernin ’06 Kelly Fischbach ’06 Dave Lewis, Jr. ’06 Kirsten Muetzel ’06 Jennifer Maree Randle ’06 Business School Student Service Awards Honoring graduating students who have made outstanding contributions to the Business School community, as voted by the graduating students Cabe Franklin ’06 Michael Francis O’Rorke ’06 Jason Santiago ’06 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award Selected by the first-year class and given in recognition of a student’s outstanding skill, care and involvement in presenting class material Cindy Bo ’06 Robert Lear Service Award Presented to a faculty member or administrator for service to the students above and beyond the call of duty Hazel Clark
