The 2004 COMPUSTAT data (the latest annual update) is made available on GRACIE today (/crds/compustat/sasdata). This update covers all companies' Current, Research, and Backdata groups and associated datasets, covering data through fiscal year 2003 (FY ending before May 2004) and quarterly data through the 2nd quarter of 2004. This data set was previously 'cut' by COMPUSTAT near the end of July each year to cover data through May. The 'cut' date has been moved to June this year, and Compustat does not expect many cases where firms that have a 2003 Fiscal Year that ends in May 2004 are excluded because of a late filing of their 10K or 10Q. The 2004 CRSP/COMPUSTAT Merged (CCM) files are also made available on GRACIE today (/crds/crsp/sasdata). This merged database has the same coverage as the base COMPUSTAT with data ending fiscal year 2003 and quarterly data through the 2nd quarter of 2004 (cut date 6/30/04). The older versions of these files are kept temporary under /crds/older_compustat/sasdata.03 and /crds/older_compustat/ccm.03.
