After
reviewing proposals, the Lang Fund board pledged a quarter of a million
dollars in seed capital to three outstanding student ventures.
The winning ventures represent diverse business interests: EyeSpa
(Dawn Sanders ’04) is a Caribbean-themed day spa; RecycleBank (Ron
Gonen ’04) provides a cost-effective solution to waste disposal; and
VisualEdit (Steve Grushcow ’04) enables small businesses to easily
update their Web sites.
The Eugene Lang Entrepreneurial Initiative Fund was
established in 1996 with an initial gift of $1,000,000 from Eugene
Lang, MS ’40. Members of the Lang Fund board — prominent alumni and
entrepreneurs with wide-ranging experience in the investment and
management of new ventures — offer student ventures valuable
guidance.
