One of the School’s biggest networking events of the year brought together more than 300 students with representatives from 43 companies, including Bed Bath and Beyond, IBM and Johnson & Johnson. The fourth annual Networking Night, held on March 15 in Low Rotunda, drew representatives from media, nonprofit and financial services companies, as well as 23 companies — such as Avon and Canon USA — that had not participated in the event before. “This is a genuine opportunity for students and representatives to meet and talk,” explained Loren Margolis, associate director of career services. “Students can really relax and be themselves.” Students spoke with representatives from many different industries over drinks and refreshments in an informal setting. Many were able to establish connections with recruiters and plan to stay in contact, said Michael Malone, director of career education and advising in career services. The Career Services office assists students at every phase of the job search, from exploring potential careers to negotiating the details of a job offer. Several hundred events are held each year, including résumé workshops, panel discussions, advising sessions and topical presentations that span a variety of career-management topics.
