Professor EricAbrahamson, an internationally recognized expert on change management, offers organizations a powerful new approach to change in his book, Change Without Pain: How Managers Can Overcome InitiativeOverload, Organizational Chaos, and Employee Burnout (Harvard University Press). Thebook is scheduled for release in January 2004. Abrahamson’s method,which he calls “creative recombination,” reconfigures existing resources, processes and networks to achieve sustainable transformation.For more information about his work, go to click here. Professor William Duggan analyzes the success of ten great strategists—from Napoleon to Picasso—in his new book, Napoleon’s Glance: The Secret of Strategy (Avalon, 2003). He offers further insight into effective strategy in The Art of What Works: How SuccessReally Happens (McGraw-Hill, 2003), which cites ancient and contemporary leaders who have solved problems by building on the success of others. Duggan, who has 20 years of experience as a strategy consultant, teaches strategy in ColumbiaBusiness School’s Management Division.
