Real Estate Mentoring Breakfasts
The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate hosts six to eight mentoring breakfasts each academic year. Leading real estate professionals, many of them alumni and members of Columbia's Real Estate Circle, meet with small groups of MBA students to share insights on building a winning career path, the current job market, and the state of the industry.
In the fall of 2010 we welcomed four real estate mentors:
Rick Atlas '01, Principal, Lazard Real Estate Partners
Kevin Chisholm '03, Managing Director, Savanna Real Estate Fund
Robert Klein '04, Vice President, Evercore Partners
Philippe Visser' 04, Deputy Director Word Trade Center Development, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
Each hosted a mentoring breakfast on campus, leading dynamic discussions with 10-12 current MBA students. We are grateful to the fall 2010 mentors for the engaging dialogue and valuable advice they shared with the students.
Real Estate Speaker Lunches
The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate hosts four Real Estate Speaker Lunches each academic year. The Real Estate Speaker Lunches provide a great opportunity for students to hear from a distinguished real estate professional. Students get to learn about the speaker's careers and gain valuable insight on the state of the real estate market. The discussions are moderated by Lynne B. Sagalyn, Earle W. Kazis and Benjamin Schore Professor of Real Estate and Director, The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate.
During the fall 2010 semester, Ron L. Moelis, Esq., CEO of L+M Development Partners, and Ivan Kaufman, CEO of Arbor Realty Trust each led an engaging lunch-time discussion with approximately 20 students. We are grateful to Mr. Moelis and Mr. Kaufman for their participation and continued ties to the School.
