On November 5 and 7, festooned with festive gold balloons, Uris Hall welcomed thousands of community members for on-campus Centennial celebrations. Students, alumni, faculty members, staff members, and friends were treated to chocolate and vanilla cupcakes featuring the Centennial seal; special branded t-shirts; a raffle; a photo booth with Centennial-themed props such as sparkling gold hats and celebratory “thought bubbles;” and refreshments throughout the day in the deli. “I was quite excited to join the Centennial event — and was lucky enough to share a birthday [party] with Columbia Business School!” says Olina Chen ’16, a fall semester exchange student from Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing, China. “The whole event was organized so well, and it was definitely a strong bond for the CBS community. As an exchange student, I am also thankful that the School is willing to share its insightful thoughts with the world.”

Community members participated heartily in the celebrations both in person and online. From November 5–8, tweets featuring the #CBS100 hashtag reached more than 234,000 users and were displayed on more than 1 million timelines. Happy 100th birthday Columbia Business School. #CBS100 pic.twitter.com/AvVCJDv8Nj— Mark Broadie (@MarkBroadie) November 5, 2015 #whatididatworktoday Happy 100th birthday @Columbia_Biz pic.twitter.com/8XQCwWef8N— Laura H.
