On the evening of April 13, 2011 the Private Equity Program held its first joint event with Alston & Bird, LLP focusing on the topic, "Starting a Fund 101."The event was sold-out days before, and alumni ranging from venture capitalists, to seasoned private equity professionals gathered at the offices of Alston & Bird to hear speakers Matthew W. Mamak and James H. Sullivan, Jr., both Partners at Alston & Bird, partake in a conversation on the ins and outs of starting a fund. The discussion was moderated by Private Equity Program Director, Professor Donna M. Hitscherich.The discussion was followed by a cocktail reception for the alumni.The event was held as the first of a series held by the Private Equity Program and Alston & Bird.Photo slideshow is now available.Standing room only at "Starting a Fund 101," an alumni event held on April 13, 2011 by the Columbia Business School Private Equity Program and Alston & Bird.
