Three New Professors Join Management Faculty

Professor Toby Stuart joins the School from the University of Chicago, where he was Fred G. Steingraber-A. T. Kearney Professor of Organizations and Strategy. In 2001, he was voted “outstanding faculty member” in Business Week’s Guide to the Best Business Schools. He received his PhD from Stanford in 1995. An accomplished researcher in the areas of organizational design and strategy in new and established businesses, Professor Stuart will begin teaching organizational strategy in spring 2004. Assistant Professor Ozgecan Kocak joins the faculty after completing her doctorate in organizational behavior from Stanford in spring 2003. Her research interests include economic sociology, the sociology of markets, industrial clusters, organizations and regional development, entrepreneurship and social networks. She will teach the core course Creating Effective Organizations in spring 2004. Postdoctoral Fellow Sampsa Samila recently graduated from Columbia University with a PhD in mathematics. As an associate research scholar in the Management Division, he focuses on using mathematics and modeling to explain organizational theory. He is teaching the core strategy course in fall 2003.
