Each year, the Real Estate Association plans domestic and international trips to learn more about diverse real estate markets. International trips are co-sponsored by the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business and the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate.
During spring break in March, 2011, 24 real estate MBA students visited Mexico to learn more about the real estate market in Mexico City and Cabo San Lucas. The group was accompanied by M. Leanne Lachman, faculty advisor and Executive-in-Residence, and Nicola Mare Usher, the Assistant Director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate.
Student organizers Adeel Ahamed ’12, Jimmy Arakanji ’11, and Stephen McGuire ’11 put together an impressive and diverse itinerary of meetings and site visits with key institutions in Mexico’s real estate market including CBRE, Grupo Ideal, Mexico Retail Properties, O’Conner Capital Partners, Dine, Walton Street Capital, PREI, GEO, and Snell Real Estate.
During the trip the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate hosted an alumni reception at Club 51 in Torre Mayor, Mexico City. Approximately 30 alumni living and working in the Mexico City area attended. Leanne Lachman delivered a talk on "Real Estate Global Demographics and Emerging Markets."
Jose Maria Urquiza Gonzalez ’83, Senior Vice President and Executive Officer, Banco Walmart generously helped to organize the reception.More information on the Mexico 2011 trip and previous study tours may be found on the Study Tours section of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate website.
