Former DRO PhD student Wenqi Hu, DRO Professor Carri Chan, former DRO Professor Jose Zubizarreta, and Dr. Gabriel Escobar of Kaiser Permanente won the runner-up prize for the Industry Studies Association's 2019 Ralph Gomory Best Industry Studies Paper Award.
Their paper, titled An Examination of Early Transfers to the ICU Based on a Physiologic Risk Score, was published in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management in 2018.
