Dean Glenn Hubbard will be featured in the keynote interview at the Wall Street Journal’s first-ever Deal & Deal Makers Conference, being held today at the New York Stock Exchange. Before the conference, Hubbard will appear in an interview on CNBC at 10:30 a.m.

The inaugural conference will bring together top bankers, private equity professionals, hedge fund managers and corporate executives to discuss important topics affecting the world of finance today. “We hope to discuss the most pressing issues affecting the financial community,” said Alan Murray, WSJ assistant managing editor and conference host. “What’s happened to the pricing of risk? When will the global liquidity glut end? Is private equity displacing the public corporation as the leading model for business, and what are the hottest areas for mergers and acquisition in the year ahead?”

David Wessel, WSJ deputy bureau chief, will moderate the keynote interview with Hubbard at 10:45 a.m. Hubbard will discuss the future of the economy — in the United States and abroad — and give his take on what deal makers should focus on in the coming months. Hubbard, who is also the Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics at the School, was chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers under President George W. Bush. While serving as CEA chairman, he also chaired the Economic Policy Committee of the OECD.

Previously, Hubbard was deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department for Tax Policy, where he supervised administration efforts on revenue estimates, tax reform and health policy.

Other speakers at the event include Lloyd Blankfein, chairman and CEO of Goldman Sachs; Richard Breeden, chairman, president and CEO of Breeden Capital Management; Carly Fiorina, former chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard; Henry M. Paulson, secretary of the U.S. Department of Treasury; and Steven A. Schwarzman, president, CEO and cofounder of Blackstone Group.
