DRO PhD student Zhe Liu won 2nd Place in the 2019 POMS-HK Best Student Paper Competition for his paper titled “A General Dual Sourcing Inventory Model: Trading off Lead Time and Cost Differences”, under the supervision of Professor Awi Federgruen. 

The paper studies the optimal inventory strategy under general settings for companies facing the trade-off between cost and responsiveness differentials in on-shore and off-shore suppliers. This paper also won 2nd Place in the 2018 POMS Supply Chain Management Student Paper Competition.
