Effective January 5, Zelon Crawford ’96TC will serve as Columbia Business School’s new Assistant Dean and Dean of Students, Full-Time MBA Program.
Crawford brings to Columbia more than 15 years experience in top business schools and companies, including NYU Stern, American Express, and Accenture. She most recently served as director of graduate business programs and recruitment for Villanova School of Business, where she led the MBA and MS program review of academic content and teaching quality; student services with a focus on career development and alumni connectivity; admissions standards; and communication and processes to enhance the student experience. She also worked extensively with academic and corporate partners to deliver programs on Villanova’s two campuses and online, aligning faculty members and staff members to reach the school’s students.
“Zelon not only has the vision and team management skills needed to help navigate a changing business school environment,” said Associate Dean Michael Malone. “She also has the proven experience of building trust among the faculty members, students, staff members, and other critical stakeholders.”
Prior to Villanova, Crawford was director of graduate career management and corporate relations for Temple University’s Fox School of Business. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College.
“I am thrilled to be joining the amazing team in the Office of Student Affairs,” Crawford said. “As a Columbia alumna, I take great pride in this institution and hope to continue fostering the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship that represents Columbia and the student community at large.”
