The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate was pleased to host the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) on campus on June 9th and 10th, for its prestigious PREA Institute with approximately 50 members from across the country in attendance. PREA describes the two-day Institute as an opportunity to offer members a "deeper understanding of the academic aspects of managing public and private real estate investment portfolios. The curriculum is taught by both academicians and practitioners, blending theory and practice for a balanced understanding of the relevant issues."
Columbia Business School was chosen from a select group of major universities to host and develop the two-day program again, having last hosted the organization and its members on campus in 2010. Professor Lynne Sagalyn, Earle W. Kazis and Benjamin Schore Professor of Real Estate, Director MBA Real Estate Program and Founding Director Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate along with Kate Kerrigan, Senior Director of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate worked closely with PREA Institute’s Committee Chairman, and CBS alumnus David Sherman '82 to develop an exciting, enriching curriculum that was heavily concentrated on the New York real estate market, real estate entrepreneurship, urban development, and global real estate investing.
