Internationally renowned for their expertise and groundbreaking research, Columbia Business School faculty members received a number of prestigious awards and appointments in 2002. 

The American Marketing Association recognized Professors Sunil Gupta and Don Lehmann for their contributions to marketing theory and practice with the 2002 William F. O’Dell Award. 

Professor Morris Holbrook received two national awards: the 2002 Distinguished Scholar Award from the Society for Marketing Advances and the 4th Annual Carol and Bruce Mallen Prize for contributions to the Motion Picture Industry. 

The American Antitrust Institute awarded Professor Michael Riordan one of their top honors for a paper he coauthored on predatory pricing. 

Fellow Finance and Economics Professor Wei Jiang won Barclay’s Global Investor’s best paper prize at the 15th Australasian Finance and Banking Conference, while Professor Juan Carrillo won the 2002 Hicks-Tinbergen Medal for a paper he coauthored. 

Professor Mark Broadie of Decision, Risk and Operations was appointed editor in chief of the Journal of Computational Finance; Professor Rick Mishkin was elected vice president of the Eastern Economics Association; and Marketing Professor Eric Johnson was elected president of the Judgment and Decision Making Society.
