Columbia Business School Launches the Chazen Web Journal of International Business

Building on its strength in international business, Columbia Business School proudly announces the launch of the Chazen Web Journal of International Business. The only student-driven online publication of its kind, the journal provides a forum in which students, academics and industry leaders provide in-depth and timely analysis of key international business issues.

Available to Internet users at no cost, each issue of the Chazen Web Journal features Columbia Business School student and faculty papers and case studies on a specific global theme, as well as contributions on other international business issues. Interviews with corporate leaders and emerging markets financial analysts provide valuable practitioner insight on topical global business issues.

The inaugural issue focuses on entrepreneurship in Africa and features an invigorating mix of student and faculty contributions and corporate interviews, including:

  • Microentrepreneurship: Case Studies in African Enterprise Growth: Five student papers detail ventures in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Zambia
  • Mexico’s Integration into the North American Capital Market: Working paper by Professor Michael Adler, Finance and Economics
  • Globalization and Sweatshops: An interview with Jerome A. Chazen ’50, chairman, Chazen Capital Partners
  • The Japanese Economy: An interview with Robert Fallon, director, The Japan Society

Established with the generous support of Jerome Chazen, the Chazen Web Journal is managed by the student board of the Jerome A. Chazen Institute of International Business under the guidance of the Institute’s faculty advisory committee. The journal exemplifies Columbia Business School’s commitment to fostering dialogue on international business issues throughout the School as well as the greater academic and business community.
