Columbia Business School launched the Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Center for Leadership and Ethics with a roundtable on leadership, ethics and corporate governance. The event featured industry leaders Lewis Sanders, CEO of Alliance Capital Management; Arthur Levitt, former chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; and Ira Millstein, senior partner at Weil, Gotshal and Manges.
Led by Dean Meyer Feldberg '65, the Sanford C. Bernstein Professor of Ethics and Leadership, the center will oversee the integration of a groundbreaking ethics program into the MBA curriculum. The School’s model for teaching ethics uses a hybrid approach of stand-alone lectures complemented by case studies and discussions in all first-year core courses. The novel approach ensures that ethics is discussed within the context of each discipline, from accounting to finance to operations.
