Catherine Downey

Catherine serves as Associate Director of Social Media as part of the Content Team in the Marketing and Communications Department at Columbia Business School. Catherine manages all five social media accounts representing CBS online, which include LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and Threads.

She collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to share groundbreaking thought leadership, celebrate significant community milestones, and spread important updates via a social media lens to members of the Columbia Business School community and beyond.

Through partnerships with faculty, student organizations, alums, centers and programs, and campus visitors, Catherine works to foster a safe, enjoyable, and educational presence for all social media users affiliated with CBS. 

Prior to joining Columbia Business School, Catherine had the privilege of serving in two distinct U.S. Senate offices on Capitol Hill in Digital Directorial capacities. She is a proud Loyola University Maryland alum, where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees.
