The Student Leadership and Ethics Board (SLEB) of The Bernstein Center hosted a series of interactive events that brought together distinguished practitioners, academics, and students for Leadership and Ethics Week 2020 to discuss the ethical implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on business and society. Here is a collection of full-length recordings from a few of our fascinating conversations.    Leadership During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Fireside Chat with Professor Todd Jick Moderated by Nishant Panigrahi '21 Professor Todd Jick led a discussion on organizational change during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage countries and organizations, the loss in the job market seems to be deep and long lasting. Leaders are dealing with the anxiety of saving their organization from going under while having to deal with the stress of laying off large numbers of employees in unconceivable ways.    Climate Finance &  Policy in the COVID-19 Era with Professors Bruce Usher and Jason Bordoff Professors Bruce Usher and Jason Bordoff led a discussion on climate finance and policy. The global economic slowdown caused by COVID-19 has led to reports of clearer skies and dolphins returning to streams. China's carbon emissions declined 25% because of the abrupt halt of industrial manufacturing. However, these transient environmental benefits belie longer term challenges, and the net impact that the pandemic has on our efforts to address the climate crisis are in question.   Philanthropy & Crisis Response with Professor Melissa Berman, Chris Cardona, and Anuar Juraidini Moderated by Allison Kline '20 Panelists led a discussion on philanthropy and crisis response in the wake of COVID-19. The conversation considered the responsibility of philanthropy in moments of crisis, while exploring the tension between responsive solutions and long-standing priorities, core values, and areas of expertise.   Pandemic Reporting: Journalistic Responsibilities & Media Impact During COVID-19 with Lydia Ramsey Moderated by Michelle Ferber '20 Lydia Ramsey, Healthcare Correspondent at Business Insider, led a discussion on journalistic responsibilities and ethical reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic. She provided an in-depth look into the healthcare industry's relationship with the media, and the delicate balancing act between covering COVID- and non-COVID-related topics.
