Brooke Jones-Chinetti ’18 served in the military for six years with two deployments to the Middle East. “After transitioning from the Army, I realized I missed the community of selfless, intelligent, and strong service members I used to be a part of,” recalls Brooke, and “furthermore, I had no idea how to find strong female mentors.”
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the female veteran population accounts for 10 percent of U.S. veterans, and that number is expected to grow to 15 percent by 2030. “Female veterans represent a rich and untapped talent pool to corporate America,” Brooke says, “there are female industry leaders who want to give advice, guidance, and tools to these women. Yet, there is a disconnect.”
Brooke started Your Sequel to bridge the gap between female veterans and industry leaders. By creating networking opportunities and a mentorship platform that pairs transitioning veterans with women leaders from the industries in which they’re pursuing a full-time career, Your Sequel enables these valuable connections and helps to build a community of women transitioning from the military.
