Real Estate Investing
In addition to its top program within the MBA at Columbia Business School, the Milstein Center continues to educate professionals about real estate finance from around the globe through various executive learning opportunities.
Presented online in 6 sessions, or in person for 3 consecutive days on campus multiple times per year, the course provides participants with a deep understanding of real estate valuation and investments — sharpening their acumen of real estate principles, teaching them how to mitigate risk in real estate investing, and strengthening their strategic decision-making capabilities in the feld.
These programs are suitable for professionals on the periphery of the real estate business or those who do not have a background in real estate but look to enhance their understanding of the sector.
NEW: Custom Real Estate Programs
Fulltime and Adjunct Faculty from MBA Real Estate Program also design and present custom programs to meet specifc organizational needs.
In spring of 2024, Stijn Van Nieuwerburgh and Benjamin Atkins partnered to design and present a custom program for the Tourism Development Fund of Saudi Arabia, which included sessions on development and construction in NYC, capitalization, financial engineering, the role of F&B in hotel and retail projects, and the art of placemaking. The program featured tours of One Vanderbilt and Hudson Yards with Philippe Visser ’04, President of Related Office Development, and featured discussions with Glen Weiss, Vornado, and Todd Chapman, JMA Ventures.
