On March 28th, 2017, the Real Estate Association (REA), with support from the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, presented Columbia Business School’s third annual Real Estate Technology and Entrepreneurship Panel. The event began with a networking reception for current students, alumni and industry participants to mix and mingle.

On Friday March 3, 2017, Columbia Business School’s Real Estate Association, in partnership with the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, hosted the 8th annual Real Estate Career Forum at the Columbia Club of New York.  The Career Forum had representation from over 25 prestigious companies from varying parts of the Real Estate industry. ​

Columbia Business School’s case competition team topped 14 other business schools to finish first place in the 2017 Real Estate Development Challenge hosted by UNC on February 17. The team, Strokos Capital, consisting of Durrell Mack '17, Will Noyes '17, John Pollock ’17 and Emily Steinberg '18, impressed the judges by presenting a plan to redevelop a 145-acre retired U.S. army base outside of downtown Atlanta. 

Andrea Olshan '04 serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Olshan Properties. In a recent interview with Morgan Mann '17, Ms. Olshan discussed market trends and areas of disruption, joining the family business, strategies for the future, and gave advice for current Columbia Business School students aspiring to have careers in real estate.

Roy March, Chief Executive Officer of Eastdil Secured, opened Columbia Business School’s 2016 Real Estate Symposium with a thorough overview of the past year’s investment activity and offered insights on the market’s direction. With more than $1.4 trillion in transactions over the life of his firm, he commented that "dollars are important, but the information from transactions is the real resource for real estate."

At the Columbia Business School Real Estate Symposium, Scott Malkin, founder and chairman of Value Retail, shared his thoughts on the future of retail and the trade-offs between efficiency and experience in a fireside chat with LeFrak Managing Director and Adjunct Professor, Camille Douglas.
