On Monday, May 2, more than 900 people gathered together for Columbia Business School’s 35th Annual Dinner, which raised $6.2 million in unrestricted funds for the School’s programs and activities. Held at its traditional venue, New York’s Waldorf Astoria, the gala event recognized the Honorable Mitchell E. Daniels Jr., governor of Indiana, with the Distinguished Leadership in Government award and William V. Campbell CC ’62, TC ’64, chair of the board of Intuit, with the Distinguished Leadership in Business award. The dinner, which had generated a record-breaking $3.1 million in advance of the event, was already a success at the beginning of the night. Then, halfway through the evening, an anonymous generous alumnus made a matching gift, bringing the fundraising total to $6.2 million. The Annual Dinner brings together alumni, faculty members, students, and friends of the School and generates critical support for curriculum development, financial aid, faculty research, and day-to-day operations.
