The Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center has announced the launch of Columbia Business Lab, a new office space in Soho for recently graduated Columbia Business School entrepreneurs. The Columbia Business Lab co-working space and entrepreneurship program grew out of the efforts initiated by the Dean’s Advisory Group and will provide select just-graduated entrepreneurs continued access to School resources, faculty advisors, programming, and events. Currently, 21 ventures are in the program, with 29 entrepreneurs in total. The School will fund the co-working space, which is governed by a leadership board of Columbia Business Lab entrepreneurs with the Lang Center providing management oversight. “Columbia Business Lab arose from a desire to keep a strong entrepreneurial community in place and provide continued support and resources to students post graduation,” said Kajal Sanghrajka ’12, Columbia Business Lab co-president and one of the students who spurred the idea for the lab. “We had a very talented group of committed entrepreneurs in our class and felt that the co-working space was a critical component to the continued success of our ventures.” The Lang Center and Columbia Business Lab team will host training sessions and networking events for the Columbia and wider New York City entrepreneurial communities. The Columbia Business Lab leadership team, in partnership with the Lang Center, will shape the formal programming, admissions process, and resources available to lab members over the course of the next year.
