NEW YORK – Columbia Business School will host Bloomberg Radio’s nationally-syndicated "Bloomberg Businessweek" live from campus on Tuesday, September 10. Broadcasting live from outside Columbia University’s historic Low Memorial Library, "Bloomberg Businessweek" hosts Carol Massar and Joel Weber will interview Costis Maglaras, dean of the Columbia Business School, giving his first broadcast interview since assuming the role in June. Throughout the three-hour broadcast, Bloomberg’s Massar and Weber will interview prominent alumni including Morgan Stanley Chairman & CEO James Gorman and faculty member Amit Khandelwal, the Jerome A. Chazen Professor of Global Business at Columbia Business School, among others, on topics ranging from data science, to global trade, entrepreneurship, and consumer behavior.

Dr. Costis Maglaras, Dean, Columbia Business School Costis Maglaras is Dean and the David and Lyn Silfen Professor of Business at Columbia Business School. An expert in operations research, data analytics and quantitative finance, his research has been recognized through the 1999 INFORMS Nicholson Prize for best paper in Operations Research and Management Science and the 2008 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Section best research paper award. 

Dr. Amit Khandelwal, Jerome A. Chazen Professor of Global Business, Columbia Business School Amit Khandelwal is the Jerome A Chazen Professor of Global Business at Columbia Business School and a leading expert on global trade. His research examines international and development economics, including the strategic response of firms to trade liberalizations and increased international competition. 

Dr. Sandra Matz, Assistant Professor of Business, Columbia Business School Sandra Matz is an Assistant Professor of Business at Columbia Business School and specializes in understanding the socio-psychological characteristics revealed by digital footprints, helping individuals and businesses to make better decisions. She works with businesses around the world and is a frequent keynote speaker for established businesses and institutions, including Microsoft, Trivago, or the European Commission.

Lulu Wang '83, CEO, Tupelo Capital Management LLC Lulu C. Wang is CEO of Tupelo Capital Management LLC, an investment management firm and hedge fund which she founded in 1998. Before Tupelo, she served as Director and Executive Vice President of Jennison Associates Capital Corporation for ten years. She serves on the boards of MetLife Insurance Company, Columbia Business School, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Rockefeller University, Asia Society, the Committee of 100 and the Chazen Institute of International Business. 

James P. Gorman '87, Chairman & CEO, Morgan Stanley James P. Gorman is the chairman & CEO of Morgan Stanley. Prior to assuming his current position as chairman in January 2012, and CEO in January 2010, he held a succession of executive positions at Merrill Lynch from 1999 to 2005 and was a senior partner of McKinsey, where he was a member of the firm’s financial services practice. Among his civic activities, Mr. Gorman serves as a co-chair of the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School.  

Federico Marchetti '99, Chairman & CEO, Yoox Net-a-Porter Group Federico Marchetti is the founder of the internet retailer and e-commerce services company Yoox and the chief executive of the Yoox Net-a-Porter Group. In 2009, Marchetti successfully took his company public on the Milan Stock Exchange, the only IPO that year. Marchetti began his career at Lehman Brothers as an investment banker before moving on to consulting firm Bain & Co., where Marchetti found a way to bridge the gap between luxury brands and the internet through e-commerce. 

Siggi Hilmarsson '04, Founder & CEO, Siggi’s Dairy As a student at Columbia Business School, Iceland native Siggi Hilmarsson started making skyr—the thick, creamy yogurt of his homeland—and popularized it across America. He founded siggi’s in 2005 and as of December 2017, siggi’s was the fastest growing yogurt in grocery stores across the U.S. Today, siggi’s is available in more than 25,000 stores and supermarkets nationwide, including Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, and Publix.
