Columbia Business School has appointed Mary Miller as assistant dean of admissions. She will oversee the recently consolidated admissions departments for the MBA and Executive MBA programs at the School. Miller joins the School from the College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was associate dean from 2002 to 2009. In that position she managed MBA admissions, student affairs and career services.
Ethan Hanabury, senior associate dean of the degree programs, commented on the significance of Miller’s arrival at this time.
"The move to combine admissions for the MBA and Executive MBA degree programs is part of a larger consolidation initiative and underscores that Columbia Business School’s preeminent MBA degree is offered in several formats. Mary brings 28 years of experience in higher education and a commendable record of accomplishment to this new role that will build on the remarkable success of MBA and EMBA admissions at the School."
Miller also offers several years of leadership experience from New York University Stern School of Business, where she served as associate dean of MBA admissions, student services and alumni affairs. Prior to that, she was the director of undergraduate programs at the College of Business Administration at the University of Iowa. She is an alumnus of the University of Iowa, where she earned both her undergraduate degree and a Master of Administration in Social Foundation of Education.
