Columbia Business School announced today the launch of Columbia EMBA-Americas, a new way to capitalize on the unique advantages and resources of Columbia’s world-class Executive MBA Program based in New York. The program’s modular delivery will be tailored for executives located throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America, and will provide more convenient access to the Columbia MBA.

"EMBA-Americas is another step in Columbia’s ongoing program innovation," said Dean Glenn Hubbard. "The new EMBA delivery format will solve the dilemma facing exceptional talent across the Americas: convenient access to the Columbia MBA. With this new modular design, we have eliminated a significant barrier to achieving that goal by providing yet another way that high-potential executives can learn to incorporate management theory into everyday practice."

The five-semester, 20-month program will include three semesters of core classes and cohort electives delivered approximately once per month, in weeklong formats primarily at Columbia’s New York City campus, as well as in California and Latin America. The School will provide accommodations to students during the first three semesters. During two semesters of elective courses, EMBA-Americas students will have access to the EMBA New York pool of week-long global electives, as well as traditional electives and international seminars.

"The MBA degree has long been recognized as a critical tool for success in the complex arena of business leadership," said Amir Ziv, vice dean, professor of accounting, and Samberg Faculty Director. "Now, the EMBA-Americas’ modular program, centered in New York, will afford uncomplicated, straightforward access to the Columbia MBA from across the country, in a manner not available before."

Applications for the inaugural EMBA-Americas class, which will begin in January 2013, will open on July 1, 2012. The application deadline is set for October 31, 2012.
