On May 28, 2018, the Center on Japanese Economy and Business (CJEB) at Columbia Business School, hosted its annual Tokyo Conference, titled “Japan as a Leading Power: Trade and the FinTech Revolution.” This panel featured R.A. Farrokhnia (Columbia Business & Engineering Schools), and Naoyuki Iwashita (Kyoto University).

Jackson Lu, a CJEB Doctoral Fellowship Recipient, and others published a paper in the Journal of Applied Psychology in July 2017. The paper, titled "'Going Out' of the Box: Close Intercultural Friendships and Romantic Relationships Spark Creativity, Workplace Innovation, and Entrepreneurship", won several awards and received wide media attention.

Professor Takatoshi Ito was recently appointed as one of the members of the Eminent Persons Group of the G20. He, along with the other members of this group, are tasked to review issues relating to global financial governance.
