In this episode of Bizcast, listen to a conversation between Nobel Prize-winning economist and CBS Professor Joseph Stiglitz and Glenn Hubbard, Dean Emeritus and Russell L. Carson Professor of Finance and Economics.

Together, they explore the intersections of economics, policy, and society, offering valuable insights into Stiglitz's vision for a more equitable economic future, and referring to Stiglitz's latest book The Road to Freedom: Economics and the Good Society.

Professor Stiglitz argues that the United States must embrace a broader conception of freedom—one that empowers citizens through quality education, accessible healthcare, job opportunities, and livable wages.

Stiglitz and Hubbard examine the impact of neoliberalism on the economy and share their perspectives on what lies ahead in 2025. Drawing from his extensive expertise, Stiglitz presents a compelling narrative on how economic policies can foster a more just and sustainable society.

Joseph Stiglitz is a Nobel Prize-winning economist and professor at Columbia University. He was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2001 and previously served as senior vice president and chief economist of the World Bank, as well as chair of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers.

Known for pioneering work on asymmetric information, Stiglitz's research spans income distribution, climate change, corporate governance, public policy, macroeconomics, and globalization.
