Teaching in the Age of Generative AI

Generative AI at CBS

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping industries worldwide, and higher education is no exception. Much like other transformative innovations before it, AI-powered language models have introduced new opportunities and challenges, changing the way students learn and how instructors teach. As these technologies continue to evolve, educators must not only understand their potential but also adapt them to meet specific learning goals, enhance engagement, and maintain academic integrity.

At Columbia Business School, the Arthur J. Samberg Institute for Teaching Excellence serves as a guiding force in this ongoing transformation, equipping faculty with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to leverage generative AI for effective teaching. By promoting experimentation, collaboration, and innovation, the Institute helps faculty uncover creative ways to integrate generative AI into the classroom.

This page is designed to be your hub for everything related to teaching and learning with generative AI at CBS. From practical tools and resources to pedagogical support and real-world examples, we aim to empower educators to harness generative AI to unlock new possibilities in business education.
