On October 21, over 1,400 alumni, students, faculty and staff members, and friends contributed a record-breaking $1.5 million to Columbia Business School, earning an additional $48,000 in challenge match funds from University Trustees. Adding to this success, the School won all three of the day’s challenges for the most international donors, further highlighting the generosity of the School’s outstanding global network.
Bringing warm weather and high spirits with them, the Columbia Business School (“CBS”) Real Estate Association (“REA”) traveled to Chicago from November 1st to 3rd to learn about the current investment landscape in the country’s 3rd largest city. They were joined by representatives from the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate for a two-and-a-half day trek around The Loop and River North.
On Friday, November 6th, the Real Estate Association (REA) and members of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate met with executives and associates from Toll Brothers City Living and toured two major luxury residential developments in New York City: Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park and 400 Park Avenue South in Manhattan.
Professor Takatoshi Ito recently spoke at a Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) event, titled "The Economics of Asia" alongside with Adam Posen, president at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
The Presider was Paul Sheard, chief global economist at Standard & Poor's Head of Global Economics and Research and the Introductory Speaker was Sheila A. Smith, senior fellow for Japan Studies at CFR.
