Michihisa Shinagawa Discusses Sumitomo Corporation's Strategy in the Americas with Columbia MBAs.

On Friday evening, November 7, approximately 50 members of the Japanese Business Association (JBA) at Columbia Business School gathered at the official residence of Ambassador Motoatsu Sakurai, consul general of Japan in New York City.

Mr. Steve Sturm, the group vice president of Americas strategic research and planning and corporate communications for Toyota Motor North America, came to Columbia Business School on Thursday, November 6 to discuss the global automobile company's "Green Strategy." The event was organized by the student led Japanese Business Association and Green Business Club, with the support and cosponsorship of the Center on Japanese Economy and Business.

The event's focus, "Asia and the World Economy," highlighted the growing importance of Asia due to its remarkable economic growth and development.

Andrew Stephen, fourth-year doctoral student in Marketing, is this year’s winner of the Alden G. Clayton Award for his dissertation "Social Commerce, Networks, and Marketing."
