On Friday, November 20th, graduate students from the Real Estate programs at Columbia, MIT, and Harvard gathered in Uris Hall for the annual Coming to Terms: Negotiating Real Estate Joint Ventures event.  Co-sponsored by the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate, The MIT Center for Real Estate, and the Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, the event offered student participants the rare opportunity to engage with seasoned professionals from both the legal and business sides of the real estate industry.  

Bringing warm weather and high spirits with them, the Columbia Business School (“CBS”) Real Estate Association (“REA”) traveled to Chicago from November 1st to 3rd to learn about the current investment landscape in the country’s 3rd largest city.  They were joined by representatives from the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate for a two-and-a-half day trek around The Loop and River North.  

On Friday, November 6th, the Real Estate Association (REA) and members of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate met with executives and associates from Toll Brothers City Living and toured two major luxury residential developments in New York City: Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park and 400 Park Avenue South in Manhattan.

On Friday, October 23rd, the Real Estate Association (REA) and members of the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate met with executives and associates from the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and toured the 16-acre World Trade Center Site including One World Trade Center.

Cia Buckley Marakovits ’93 is Chief Investment Officer, Partner, Managing Director, and Member of the Investment Committee at Dune Real Estate Partners. In a recent interview with Sarah Pous ’15, Ms. Buckley Marakovits discussed trends in the real estate industry and gave advice for Columbia Business School students aspiring to have careers in real estate.

Nikhil Chaudhri ’16, co-vice president of Careers with the Real Estate Association (REA), has been awarded a Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year.

Camille Douglas is currently a Managing Director at LeFrak. Adjunct Professor Douglas’s class is known for bringing together students and top real estate industry leaders. In a recent interview with Alex Jugant '16, she discussed her professional experience, her thoughts on the global economy, and her recommendations for aspiring real estate professionals.

The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate was pleased to host the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) on campus on June 9th and 10th, for its prestigious PREA Institute with approximately 50 members from across the country in attendance.

The annual gathering of Columbia Business School real estate alumni took place on May 6 at the Columbia Club of New York and honored Distinguished Real Estate Partner, Jon Gray of Blackstone.  This lively reception, which draws alumni from near and far, is presented annually by the Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate and Real Estate Circle and sponsored by Goodwin Procter LLP.

The Paul Milstein Center for Real Estate is pleased to announce that Lili Luizova '15, Joanna Wong '15, and Stephanie Wright '16 have all been awarded scholarships by the organization WX, New York Women Executives in Real Estate.
