The School’s Program on Social Intelligence (PSI) has recently launched several initiatives to develop students’ leadership capabilities.

Two Columbia Business School faculty members have been recognized with Dean’s Prizes for Teaching Excellence in a core course for 2013.

Michael Hershman, president and CEO of the Fairfax Group, has been awarded Columbia Business School’s 2013 Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics. The award was presented during a ceremony on Monday, September 16. 

The president of U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, Banks emphasized to students the importance of direct communication.

In the role, Cannella will oversee the launch of the Private Equity Fellows Program, designed for select students seeking to deepen their knowledge of the industry.

Michael Adler, professor emeritus of business, died on July 29. He was 76. In his more than 40 years on the faculty, Adler was an influential member of the Columbia community. Among his many contributions, he was instrumental in developing the MBA class on international corporate finance and he served as chair of the Finance Division. 

The two members of the class of '67 pledged a combined $40 million.

Phillips is replacing Professor Daniel Ames, who recently completed his term at the helm.
