The Private Equity Program recently launched a two-part video lecture with Valerie Purdie-Vaughns who came to speak at Deal Camp in 2015 and 2016. Speaking on the subject of diverse teams, and providing an experiential exercise for the students, Professor Purdie-Vaughns shows the academic research and ideas that make diverse teams an important value-proposition for PE Firms. These sessions were sponsored by KKR.

Paolo Siconolfi Appointed Director of Doctoral Program

Paolo Siconolfi, the Franklin Pitcher Johnson Jr. Professor of Finance and Economics, will take leadership of the Business School’s Doctoral Program effective July 1, 2017. Paolo received his PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and joined the Business School as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 1988. His research has focused on general equilibrium theory, information theory, and dynamic models in monetary theory. Working with the PhD Faculty committee, Paolo will provide academic direction, coordination, and oversight for the programs. He will continue to ensure that the PhD program is rigorous while training future generations of scholars and teachers who, during their time with us, contribute to our intellectual community and the generation of new ideas and research.

Faculty Members Take on New Appointments for Upcoming Academic Year

Dean Glenn Hubbard has announced three new faculty appointments that will take effect on July 1: Charles Jones, the Robert W. Lear Professor of Finance and Economics, has been named senior vice dean; Shiva Rajgopal, the Roy Bernard Kester and T.W. MTGE Investment Corp. Elects Steven Abrahams to Board of Directors

MTGE Investment Corp. ("MTGE" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: MTGE) announced on March 10th that its Board of Directors has elected Steven W. Abrahams to the Board effective immediately. MTGE's Board of Directors now consists of five members, including four independent directors. "We are pleased to welcome Steve to the MTGE Board. Steve's significant experience with, and expertise in, U.S. mortgage-backed securities and global fixed income investing will complement the strong and diverse skill set of our existing Board," said Gary Kain, MTGE's Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Abrahams also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Economics at the Columbia Business School.
