Columbia Business School's Deming Center Bestows Awards to Paul O'Neill, David Cote, and Indra Nooyi

Columbia Business School’s W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Productivity, and Competitiveness recently honored David M. Cote, chairman and CEO at Honeywell, and Indra K. Nooyi, chairman and CEO at PepsiCo, with the 2016 Deming Cup for Operational Excellence. In addition, the center bestowed the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to Paul H. O’Neill, 72nd Secretary of the US Treasury and former director and chairman at Alcoa, for his legacy of leadership across the public and private sectors over five decades.

Mendelson Center for Undergraduate Business Initiatives Created at Columbia University

Today, Columbia University announced the establishment of the Mendelson Center for Undergraduate Business Initiatives, a joint program between Columbia College and Columbia Business School. The Center was established with a $10 million gift from the Mendelson family, whose relationship with Columbia spans four generations. The Center will foster an ongoing business education program for select Columbia undergraduates.

To kick off Startup Week, a four-day celebration of entrepreneurship at Columbia Business School, The Eugene Lang Center for Entrepreneurship announced the first winners of the newly established entrepreneurial research fellowship awards for PhD students. Each academic year, the Lang Center will award up to four students with a fellowship of $5,000. This year’s fellows will present their research publicly at the Entrepreneurial Research Showcase event in the spring of 2018.
